Ada Vessalius's cats are a trio of cats from Jun Mochizuki's Pandora Hearts. The Vessalius Dukedom has owned three cats over the span of the series, Dinah (ダイナ, Daina) and her two daughters Snowdrop (スノウドロップ, Sunoudoroppu) and Kitty (キティ, Kiti). They are most frequently interacting with and following Ada Vessalius, but are amicable with others of the family such as Oscar and Oz. Dinah is first and only seen during the time of Oz's first Coming-of-Age Ceremony, and she isn't seen again at any point thereafter. However her two daughters appear ten years later following along with Ada as she attends Lutwidge Academy.

Appearance[]
Dinah is a full grown cat with a gray coat, Snowdrop is a young cat with a white coat, and Kitty is a young cat with a black coat. They all resemble one another greatly, and all similarly wear a ribbon around their necks as collars.
Personality[]
All three cats are very friendly and familiar with those of the Vessalius family. They can constantly be seen climbing on and clinging to the bodies of their owners, as well as following them wherever they go. Even as a young eight-year-old Ada would play with her and pull her to and fro, Dinah never once protests and simply lets the young girl do as she wishes, showing how fond of Ada Dinah is and how gentle a demeanor she possesses. She is similarly fond of Oz and loyal to him as well, as with the snap of his fingers Dinah will understand his command and attack Gilbert; only playfully, but nonetheless scaring the young boy and entertaining her mischievous owner.[1] She also likes to cling to Oscar Vessalius showing her friendliness with him as well.[2]
Dinah's two daughters Snowdrop and Kitty demonstrate that they follow in their mother's footsteps when it comes to personality and their relationship with their owners. Snowdrop and Kitty both are the closest to Ada once again, even following her to where she attends her schooling at Lutwidge Academy. They are seen following, climbing on, and clinging to Ada, Oz, and Oscar all on separate occasions. The two cats are very close to one another as well and are constantly seen together, only very rarely separating.[3]
However Snowdrop and Kitty have their individual characteristics as well. Snowdrop's first appearance has her attacking Gilbert directly in the face. This is due to her owner Ada being a part of Lutwidge Academy's disciplinary committee and thus having to enforce prohibition of smoking cigarettes on schoolgrounds. Snowdrop attacking Gilbert for smelling of tobacco shows either her following in her owner's disciplinary acts or at the least being willing to attack another at the orders of her owner.[3] As for Kitty she has a tendency to follow others, primarily Oz in particular, to allow for Snowdrop and Ada to follow suit.[3] She even has urged Elliot Nightray and his valet Leo to follow her to where Oz had been kidnapped by the Baskervilles after the two find Ada knocked unconscious.[4] Both cats show they are very perceptive, intelligent, and proactive in the ways they interact with and help out their owners.
None of Dinah, Snowdrop, or Kitty have been seen interacting with the lone member of the Vessalius family that they seem to not be friendly with, Xai Vessalius. It remains uncertain as to how they feel for him. However, Snowdrop and Kitty are friendly and affectionate even with outsiders of the Vessaliuses, in particular Elliot Nightray who in turn is very fond of them though he attempts to keep this secret.[5]

Trivia[]
- Dinah, Snowdrop, and Kitty are all based on the characters from Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. Dinah is Alice's pet cat first appearing in Wonderland, then in Looking-Glass she reappears as the mother of two kittens, Snowdrop and Kitty.[6]
