The Barma Homeland is a location in Jun Mochizuki's Pandora Hearts. It is a country that geologically neighbors the country within which the story takes place. It is never explicitly given a name, always ever referred to with vague terms such as "that country" (かの
The most significant resident of the country is Isla Yura, who is the son of the country's leadership. Yura is eventually found to be in possession of a Stone Seal that prevents the return of Glen Baskerville. To get to the Seal and protect it from harm, Oz Vessalius and his friends conspire to have Yura invite them to his home in the Barma Homeland.

Isla Yura's Mansion[]
Isla Yura's Mansion is a mansion belonging to Isla Yura, and which serves as the base of operations for his cult. The mansion is a large and grand estate which reflects the wealth and political power Yura possesses. The area mainly featured within the mansion is the dance hall in which Oz Vessalius's second Coming-of-Age Ceremony takes place. Hidden below the grounds of the property is a basement, treated as an underground sanctuary for the Stone Seal. Since Yura took ownership, the area around the Seal has been turned into a place of reverence and worship for his cult members. Thus it also serves as the site for when Yura and his cult attempt to bring about the second coming of the Tragedy of Sablier.
Isla Yura had come across this mansion by sheer chance. It had long been a place surrounded by dark rumors and fearful superstitions, people claiming that the devil lived there and disaster was wrought onto every owner. The mansion formerly belonged to one of the magicians originally appointed by Jack Vessalius and Arthur Barma to guard the Stone Seal. That mage's descendent inherited the Seal, but forgot his duties and attempted to use the powers of the Abyss for his own gain. This lead to his death, and Yura came upon the descendent's research and subsequently became obsessed with seeing the power of the Abyss for himself.

History[]
Very little is known about The Barma Homeland, however from a political standpoint it appears as though war had once been a major concern for the country. Prior to the Tragedy of Sablier, a war broke out as a result of an ongoing power struggle between the Barma Family and the state. When the Barmas were struck down, they were exiled from their homeland for their insubordination, pushing them into a neighboring country and its capital city, Sablier.
Immediately after relocating, the Barmas started to try and get close to a high-ranking nobility in Sablier, the Baskerville Clan, in an attempt to regain their status. As such, the heir to the Barma Family, Arthur Barma often spent a lot of his time alongside Levi, the Glen Baskerville at the time; who was rather interested in other cultures such as Arthur's. As such, Levi eventually offered to host an event in Arthur's honor to celebrate his culture. Arthur's sister, Miranda Barma, suggested that Arthur hire a musician to play the morin khuur (a popular instrument from their culture) at Levi's event in order to further the cultural experience. Seeing nothing wrong with what his sister had suggested, Arthur accepted, and Miranda organized the musician's arrival at the Baskerville estate; though Arthur remained oblivious to Miranda's true intentions.
When the Tragedy of Sablier lead to the dropping of the majority of Sablier into the Abyss, the resulting aftershock rattled The Barma Homeland with a massive earthquake that split the country in half; which the country's scholars proclaimed was caused by numerous natural disasters occurring simultaneously.
Though the Barma Family had been exiled, a branch of their family tree was allowed to remain in The Barma Homeland. Thus The Yuras rose to power sometime after the Tragedy and became the highest ranking noblemen in the country; though unfortunately the current state of the country while under the command of the father to Isla Yura remains unknown.
