Make sure to read all policy before commenting, editing articles, or uploading images. Failure to abide by policy may result in deletions, warnings, blocks or bans.
Banning is an administrator and moderator privilege. It prevents a user and their IP address from editing articles, uploading images, or leaving comments on pages. It is considered the most severe punishment a wiki administrator can dole out, and generally is only carried out in especially grievous cases of bad faith acting.
Bans[]
When Bans are Enacted[]
In most cases, user policy violation will not result in a ban. Ideally, bans are enacted only as a last resort. Accidentally making a false statement will not get you banned. Getting a little too emotional in the comments will not get you banned. Being a good editor in general but making some silly choices in editing practice for a particular issue will not get you banned. It is standard Fandom Community-wide policy to assume good faith- that is, assume most people are trying to accurately represent the issue at hand, for benevolent reasons. Bans are only enacted in response to continued knowing disregard for wiki policy and deliberate malevolence. That includes:
- Repeated vandalism even after being warned by administrators.
- Repeated use of vulgar language even after being warned by administrator.
- Outright hostility towards other users.
- Outright hateful remarks.
- Remarks which are outright racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or sexist.
- Any upload of pornographic content.
- Any upload of leaked content.
In most cases, a user will receive several warnings before they are banned. The only exceptions are in especially egregious cases or in the case of uploaded leaks.
How to Get a Ban Removed[]
Bans aren't necessarily forever, and can be removed by an administrator at any time. If you believe you've been wrongly banned, contact an administrator in one of the following ways:
- The administrator's Talk page.
- The administrator's Fandom Community Message Wall.
- Any public means of contact the administrator has bound to their profile.
Note that being unbanned is entirely up to administrator discretion. If you don't want to be banned again, follow policy and don't be a repeat offender. Remember to remain civil with administrators as you plead your case.
How to Get Someone Banned[]
In certain cases, a user may ask wiki administrators to ban another user. Whether a user is actually banned is entirely up to administrator discretion. To petition for a user's banning, contact the administrator through one of the following means:
- The administrator's Message Wall on this wiki.
- The administrator's Talk page.
- The administrator's Fandom Community Message Wall.
- Any public means of contact the administrator has bound to their profile.
Include the following information in your petition:
- The username of the person you think should be banned.
- The number of edits made by the person you think should be banned.
- The reason you believe the person should be banned.
- Any additional information you believe would be pertinent.
Note that in order for a user to be banned, they MUST be an obviously bad faith actor. Administrators will NOT ban users on the sole basis of:
- You personally dislike them.
- Their interpretation differs from yours.
- You've been caught in an edit war with this person.
- You just think they're a bad editor.
Those issues should be resolved between users or ignored entirely.
