You MUST read all rules pages before editing. Failure to abide by these rules may result in rollbacks, deletions, warnings, blocks, or even bans.
General Rules[]
These are rules that are specifically for articles, but should be applied wherever you go on the Pandora Hearts Wiki. Most of these rules are already part of Fandom's Terms of Service, but are being restated here for clarity.
- Do not post information or content pertaining to chapters that haven't been officially released, i.e. leaks. This will result in an instant block.
- Respect other editors.
- Do not vandalize current articles. Continued vandalism will result in a block.
- Any racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or racist remarks will result in a warning or a block, depending on severity.
- Do not make pointless articles. If you see one, put the Request for Deletion tag on.
- Don't edit archives. Archives are histories of old discussions meant to be used as reference. If you want to continue an old discussion, restart it in the normal Talk page.
- Keep assumptions and speculation to an absolute minimum.
- "Assumptions and speculation" is a broad term, and impossible to avoid completely while still accurately representing the content of the work. When in doubt, don't put it.
- In extreme cases, speculation CAN be acknowledged, but only as that- speculation. This is up to editor and administrator discretion.
- When making extremely minor edits, please do it while in the process of making a larger edit. Pages are watched by users, and it's annoying when you get notifications over extremely minor edits.
- When copying directly from Wikipedia, please add the {{Wikipedia}} template.
- No advertising.
- Respect neutrality.
- Don't start edit wars. If you and another user can't agree on a point, take it into their talk page. If an edit war continues, there's a high chance the page will be protected.
Bias and Neutrality[]
This wiki deals almost exclusively with subjects of fiction. This means it is, by nature, subjective- art and fiction are matters of emotion, not fact. It can be difficult to identify biased articles, and even more difficult to make them neutral. Here are some tips:
- Biased articles will often:
- Pass moral judgement. While fiction does pass moral judgment on its characters, it is not the job of the wiki to interpret this judgment.
- Use emotional language when not directly quoting the text. (i.e. calling something "really cool" or "disgusting.")
- Emphasize negative aspects over positive ones, or positive ones over negative ones.
- Hint towards a certain interpretation over another.
- When it comes to fiction, certain subjects can result in an unlimited number of interpretations. In these cases, better to delete controversial topics than try to state every interpretation.
- Any statement made should be directly supported by the text, preferably the original manga.
- Wikipedia is not a source, even if it is in Japanese.
- Comments and blog posts are not sources, whether they are hosted by Fandom or other sites.
Pandora Hearts Wiki does not forbid or even discourage strong opinions on anything hosted on the site. In fact, discussion is encouraged. However, discussion should be kept to comments, talk pages, and blog posts. Personal opinions should not come into articles.
Rules for Comments[]
The Jun Mochizuki Wiki wishes to encourage discussion and conversation surrounding the topics it hosts. Jun Mochizuki's work is generally considered 16+, and it is assumed the Wiki's userbase will be within that age range. Her work does not shy away from adult themes or severe content. However, to maintain civility and a welcoming community, certain rules for interaction must be instated.
- ABSOLUTELY NO racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or sexist language/slurs. Depending on severity, this may result in a deletion of your comment, a warning, a block or even a ban.
- This INCLUDES "jocular" homophobia, ableism, etc. While something may be obviously a joke to you, your friends, or your subculture outside of the wiki, it doesn't mean it's obvious to everyone. In addition, allowing "jocular" bigotry allows for legitimate bigotry which can then be excused as "just a joke." Even if an administrator recognizes the bigotry as jocular, your comment will be treated the same way as a legitimate one. DO NOT jokingly call characters slurs, use hateful language for them, etc. It will be treated by administrators as though it is not a joke.
- Keep swears to a minimum. While some swearing is allowed, severe swears like 'f*ck' or 'sh*t' violate Fandom policy and should be avoided.
- Avoid sarcasm. While your own sarcasm will be obvious to you, sarcasm carries poorly over text, and some people are just bad at identifying it. Prevent miscommunication and just say what you mean.
- You are not obligated to make all comments positive, but make sure your comment is constructive. A comment like "F*ck this guy" is not constructive and will be deleted.
- Comments which contain blatant misinformation will be deleted and may result in a block.
- "Misinformation" means "information that cannot be excused through misinterpretation." Everyone can be wrong by accident, in which case it is best to politely correct someone about their perceptions.
- Examples of misinformation may be lying about a character's height or age, claiming they and another character were explicitly dating when no such confirmation exists (with the intent to mislead), etc.
- Adult or sexual topics can be discussed, but cannot be vulgar. You can acknowledge characters have sex or even express attraction to them, but explicit references to specific sex acts, genitalia, etc. will be deleted and you may receive a warning.
- Explicitly sexualizing comments regarding characters who are underage or who look underage will be deleted. This is for legal reasons, and to make sure the community as a whole feels more safe. This is up to administrator discretion.
- Severe topics including child abuse, suicide, and sexual assault are prevalent themes within Jun Mochizuki's work. Their discussion is not banned in any capacity. However, please exercise discretion in posting about them—if the subject can be talked around, do so.
- Use of the words 'rape,' 'pedophilia,' 'incest,' etc. will not be banned, nor will their discussion on a conceptual level be restricted. Do NOT go into detail about these subjects.
Depending on severity, failure to abide by these rules will result in deleted comments, warnings, blocks, or even bans.
