The central character is Oz Vessalius, standing center frame and staring forwards with seriousness and confidence. He is clad in his casual clothes, over which the white, gold, and green Coming-of-Age Ceremony cloak is draped. Said cloak is ill-fitted, falling off his right shoulder and only hanging on his left arm, the end of the sleeve falling past his hand. The ends of the cloak are tattered and worn and ripped. Oz has his right arm lifted and braced over his face as it holds the golden pocket watch, and his left arm down at his side is bound tightly by a chain, one end broken and falling apart into pieces. In the background is a black-and-white silhouette of the pocket watch ticking away.

The air of celebration surrounding fifteen-year-old Oz Vessalius's coming-of-age ceremony quickly turns to horror when he is condemned for a sin about which he knows nothing. He is thrown into an eternal, inescapable prison known as the Abyss from which there is no escape. There, he meets a young girl named Alice, who is not what she seems. Now that the relentless cogs of fate have begun to turn, do they lead only to crushing despair for Oz, or is there some shred of hope for him to grasp on to?

Oz Vessalius sits upon a red and gold chair which is significantly bigger than himself. The chair is upholstered with red velvet and decorated on the edges with intricate gold details, wings framing either side of the chair's back and Pandora's sigil at the very top. Two silver chains hang decoratively on each corner of the chair's back. Oz smiles brightly as he sits upon the chair, his right leg tucked in underneath him and his left leg hanging several inches off the ground. Sitting atop his head is a smiling Dinah.

Alice is the central character, looking upwards as she holds her scythe by her side and sits upon the head of a huge rabbit doll larger than she is. The toy black rabbit is dressed in the same red and white overcoat as hers and is gripping the handle of Alice's scythe in one hand. The doll has on a blank-eyed smile and around its neck hangs a golden pocket watch. The back end of its coat bleeds into deep dark purple haze.
