Ada is the central character, sitting upon a black chair in center-frame. Ada is wearing the same dress she wore to her and Vincent's date, hands clasped in her lap and a bright smile on her face. The chair she sits on is completely black with a wide backrest, the edges of the frame decorated with black roses. On either side of the chair are some roses and thorny vines stretching out into loops from which a pair of objects hang. On the right hangs a very large key as big as the chair's backrest. On the left hangs a birdcage, significantly smaller than the key, within which sits a human skull. On the side of the birdcage is a blue rose, whose petals fall and scatter to the ground.
