Thick black chains crisscross and surround him, one of which crosses in front of him and which he braces his right foot against. The Special Edition's front cover features Leo, hair still long and shaggy like in his initial appearances. He's dressed in his Lutwidge Academy uniform, and he has on his glasses as well. He's sitting down with his knees tucked up to his chest, open book in his lap, his right hand adjusting his glasses as he looks upward at the camera and smiles. He's surrounded by a background of pink, yellow, and blue flowers
The back cover features several of the main characters, such as Oz, Alice, Gilbert, Break, Sharon, Elliot, Leo, and Emily, all in chibi form. All of them are falling from above amidst a shower of yellow flowers, all bathed in a warm golden light. Oz, Alice, and Gilbert are all falling together, Gilbert clinging to Oz's hands with panic as the latter drops down with a bright smile, and Alice clings to Gilbert's back while holding up his hat. Break is holding his cane sword up above his head, lips pursed playfully as he looks up at Emily falling above him, while Sharon clings to him in her surprise. Leo sits on Elliot's back reading a book as they fall.

- Volume 16 is the first Pandora Hearts volume to have its own Special Edition, with an alternative cover featuring exclusive artwork drawn by Mochizuki. After this would come many more Special Edition volumes.
