Xerxes Break sits in center-frame upon a chair with purple cushions and legs and details colored a dull silver-gold. However, he is not sitting on the chair in any kind of way that could be considered normal. The chair is tilted towards the left, leaning precariously in place on two right legs, while Break perches on the chair's left armrest. Break is dressed in the same outfit he wore when he and Gilbert first met in Retrace XIII: "A Lost Raven" colored a dark blue-purple with pale pink details, and a matching top hat on his head. Break's left hand is inquisitively cupping his chin while his right hand is resting down in front of him and holding a lollipop with a very long stick. Hanging by her arms from the right armrest of the chair is Emily.

Vincent and Echo sit together in a circular pool of water colored a blue so deep and dark it seems black in some places. Echo lies limply in Vincent's arms, her expression blank and eyes almost lifeless as he embraces her, and Vincent smiles up slyly from behind her while his robe billows around him in a circle in the water. By each of their sides are a pair of stuffed dolls which have been cut up and open, stuffing emerging from their torn bodies. Behind Vincent is a pair of scissors.
