Dominique blames herself for involving Noé with Mina's situation. Veronica comes to pick up Dominique, but Dominique doesn't wish to leave and wonders if Veronica isn't sad for her brother's death, however, Veronica states she doesn't have a brother and Louis should have been killed the day he was born due and she should be happy he was allowed to live that long. Seeing Dominique doesn't understand what she means, Veronica is happy to explain that Louis wasn't hidden because of his illness, but for he and Dominique being twins. In the vampire world, twins are a symbol of misfortune and House de Sade had to hide that fact to not tarnish their name. One of them should have been slain at birth, but grandfather stated it would be a waste and took Louis in. Dominique wonders why she was chosen and Veronica states that their father probably felt that way. Dominique then wonders if Louis was aware of this.

Noé wakes up, but mistakes Dominique for Louis and states he is glad that he is alive. As he falls asleep again, Dominique wonders if Noé wished that Louis was chosen over her and can't stop thinking about it, and ends up cutting her hair short to look more like Louis. Eventually she meets Mikhail and states she wished she to be the curse-bearer and died, so that Louis could live and be with Noé.

Mikhail introduces himself, revealing he has the Book of Vanitas and commenting that Noé must know his big brother. Mikhail wonders if Vanitas had mentioned him or Number 71. Mikhail then points at Dominique at the top of a ferris wheel, stating she would jump if someone harms him. Mikhail wants Noé to suck Vanitas blood and tell him why Vanitas killed their father back then as Vanitas refuses to tell him himself. Meanwhile, Luca and Jeanne learn that Dominique has been missing for three days and Luca decide to ask Jeanne for a favor.

Noé wonders why Vanitas would kill their "father", but that causes Mikhail to laugh as he realizes that after all the time they spend together, Noé still doesn't know anything about Vanitas. While the vampire was drinking her blood, she was making the same face, but slowly as she died, it returned to normal, making Mikhail believe the vampire got rid of the demon inside of her. Roland starts crying, praying to God to save this child as the vampires had already led him astray. Olivier shows up and takes Roland, telling him he needs to rest until he recovers.
