~Things That Don't Change~
Jean-Jacques reminisces his time with Chloé and the decades they spent together. During that long period of time, Chloé educated him on many things, from history to philosophy to the World Formula, the sheer number of subjects daunting a younger Jean-Jacques. He always gave his best to these studies alongside the cooking and cleaning he also did for Chloé. But even with all that Chloé's method of teaching was tough and rigorous and Jean-Jacques would often be completely drained by the end of their lessons. But in the end Chloé always rewarded him with a pat on the head. Snapshots of time passing them by, Jean-Jacques growing from a child shorter than her to a teenager at her height to a young man towering over her, all the while Chloé herself stayed the same. In the current times, Chloé looks up at Jean-Jacques with all his height over her and promptly orders him to carry her. Jean-Jacques does, cradling her in his arms high above the ground. Jean-Jacques has grown quite taller than when they first met, but... Chloé calls him a good boy and affectionately rubs his hair, and Jean-Jacques smiles. But Chloé still pats Jean-Jacques's head like she always had.
~Don't Worry!~
After the Chasseurs arrive at Gévaudan to lend help to the situation. A video game-esque text box appears declaring that Roland has joined the party, with Roland himself waving and wishing for their safe trip. Noé is leaping through the gravity-less air with Vanitas under his arm, excitedly gushing at Roland telling him he likes him. Vanitas moans in agony. Noé adds that Roland also said he liked Vanitas and notes that he must be happy about that. Vanitas, boiling with rage, snaps that he isn't happy at all about that. Noé stares at a nauseous-looking Vanitas as he soars through the air and recalls Vanitas's words from before, that he has no interest in someone who would fall for him. Noé stiffens with realization. With earnest encouragement and enthusiasm, Noé declares that he hasn't changed and still doesn't like Vanitas. Vanitas is confused. And so, Noé tells him to cheer up. Vanitas still confused says okay.
~A Special Friend~
At the Granatum estate, a child Astolfo is walking through the halls. Someone calls his name, and he turns to find Olivier standing there expectantly. Astolfo happily greets him as Olivier explains his presence as his father's attendant. Olivier mentions that Marco has lately been in a fuss because Astolfo and his sister have been sneaking out of their castle quite often now and he asks what he's been doing. Astolfo giggles mischievously and asks to keep it secret from Marco. He leans into Olivier's ear and whispers that he's been meeting up with a friend. Olivier repeats this, and Astolfo specifies it to be a special friend. Olivier mulls it over then with a sigh of exasperation relents and decides to let him be with a promise that he won't do anything dangerous. As Astolfo promises, Olivier reminisces to his own childhood and frequently playing with a certain old friend of his.
~What Happened Behind The "Not yet"~
Almost like a courtroom objection, the words "Not yet!" erupt into the silent air. Jeanne tearfully kneels before him. Vanitas stands shocked still, openly gaping as he reels from confusion. Several camera angles feature his journey through millions of emotions at once as he comes to terms with what he just did—yelling out "Not yet!" First with disbelief and denial. Then a slow dawning terror of the weight of what he had done, of what it means and from where he took inspiration to say such a thing. Then absolute frustrated rage when he realizes he has to follow through and actually do something. All the while Jeanne kneels on the ground, still completely out of it due to viewing her own memory-filled nightmares. Later, Vanitas screams with all his might at Noé for causing this change in himself that resulted in his saying "Not yet!" to which Noé is only baffled and scared.
