Summary[]
Noé bursts into Orlok's office and asks him to save Vanitas, believing he is dying. Noé explains that Vanitas refused to get up for ten days and refuses to eat, stating his heart hurts. As Amelia is out of town and Vanitas refuses to see a doctor, Orlok is Noé's last hope. Vanitas prefers to die than someone examine his body and states his sickness isn't ordinary as he had reread his medical books and there is nothing about it. Vanitas then guesses that Jeanne had put a curse on him, as his symptoms appeared after she sucked his blood in Gevaudan. As Vanitas explains he feels like his heart is racing and can't stop thinking of Jeanne, Orlok, Nox and Manet figure out what is going on, annoyed, they decide to kick out Vanitas and Noé. Noé knocks on their door, wanting they to give him some hint, but then notices that Vanitas had left.
Outside, Vanitas is on a bridge and looks at the river, thinking about Jeanne. A couple then passed by and the man explains same "symptoms" before figuring it out he loved the woman. Hearing that, realizes its love and starts to panic. As he runs, he bumps into Roland who is sitting at a cafe with Olivier. Seeing the terrified look on Vanitas face, Olivier wonders if Roland had been causing troubles outside work, but Roland explains he had a drinking contest with his friend "Vincent". Olivier invites Vanitas to join them, as he wishes to learn more about what Roland is doing in his free time, even if he is messing with a woman, but Roland states he isn't in a relationship right now. Hearing that Olivier is popular with women, Vanitas decides to join them. After some minutes of silence, Vanitas finally find courage to talk and states that he has a friend, who can't stop thinking of a woman, his heart races and he can't figure out what is going on. Roland and Olivier realize Vanitas talks about him and Roland states its love, which leaves Vanitas in shock. Vanitas then wonders who to cure this disease as he can't bear the agony anymore. Roland notices that Vanitas no longer pretends its about his friend and tells him that from what Vanitas said, the woman also feels the same for him. That leaves Vanitas even more shocked as he didn't believe anyone will ever love him. Roland realize that Vanitas despises himself more than he originally believed, but tells him that everything will be alright and he will double his love for him. Roland then tells Vanitas to not be scared to love someone, but scared of Roland, Vanitas decides to run. Roland had noticed Noé eavesdropping and calling him "Gilbert", tells him to go after "Vincent". As he does, Olivier reveals he figured out that Vincet is Vanitas, but its not typical for Roland to get attached to someone. Roland haven't realized he is attached to Vanitas, but feels that if he takes his off him, Vanitas starts to fall apart.
Jeanne apologizes to Luca for what happened, but he tells her its alright as she acted on his uncle's orders. As she explains everything that happened in Gevaudan, Luca is happy that Jeanne didn't had to kill her friend. Luca wonders what happened to Chloé d'Apchier and Jeanne explains she isn't aware. With Vanitas, they decided its best for Jeanne to not know what happens with Chloe, as she may get questioned when she returns. Jeanne now trusts Vanitas and believes Chloe will be alright. She explains that she can't stop thinking about him, that her heart feels like racing, and the more she talks about Vanitas, Luca realizes that she sounds like she fell in love with him. Thinking about it, Jeanne realize she is indeed in love. Luca panics and goes to Dominique for help. Dominique can't believe that Jeanne had fallen for a man like him, and would have understood if she fallen for Noé, as he is handsome, strong, kind and adorable. Jeanne explains that Vanitas saved her many times and is a good person. Jeanne is happy, but fears that the next time she sees Vanitas, she will jump on him and consummate their love. Dominique reminds her that Vanitas states he isn't interested in a person who would love him. Jeanne states she won't let him figure it out and that she developed her acting skills from their last date. Dominique was feeling she needed to protect Jeanne as she lost her self-confidence, but seeing her now, there is no need to protect her anymore. Dominique then thinks about Noé and starts feeling strange.
Noé joins Vanitas on the roof and tells him that Manet told him that after they left for Gevaudan, a series of vampire attacks occurred in Paris, however, Vanitas doesn't really care. Noé explains that he never met a human who loathed vampires with all their heart until Astolfo, and hated him for it and couldn't let him win. That made him think what made Vanitas and Astolfo get on different paths and that even something small could have pushed Vanitas into Astolfo's place. Noé is happy that he met a vampire doctor and not a Chessaur when they met with Vanitas and is glad that he is who he is.
Elsewhere, Mikhail meets with Dominique who had just attacked a human and isn't herself. He tells her, he asked her to bring Noé to him, but she failed. As she won't do it, then he has no choice but to use her as bait.
